Ok I have re set the timing on my motor by my gun reads 14 base and 30 with full advance. It sure sounds like it is running right. I have an hei distributor on it with light springs. I really thought 32 36 would be advanced timing to hit. I suspect my gun is off. The car idles 1250 or so anything lower makes it tempted to die. 292 530 cam 244@50 is why it lopes. Any ideas?

750 dbl pumper with a 3.5 power valve. 8 lbs of vacuum at idle on the carb.

That engine should idle at 900 rpm,I still think you don't have enough initial timing is why it doesn't want to idle any lower.Set total at 36* turn down the idle and see what the initial timing is, but your going to have to get the idle down to get true initial timing. At 1200 your mechanical is already kicking in giving you a false reading, your already reading the mechanical advance.

well I can't set it over 30 with full vacuum. So something isn't right. I will admit it is running very good but.

I don't understand what you mean by you can't set it more than 30*.If you mean the vacuum advance is hitting the firewall so you can't advance it any more, you can pull the distibutor up and move the rotor back one or two teeth to give you more adjustment.Counter clockwise.
