Anyone done this before? It is a turbo 350. After sitting for a while it will leak a puddle of tranny fluid onto the floor right around the tailshaft. I have the trans out so I took the tailshaft to see what it looked like. It looks like there is a bronze piece (?) with a seal behind it (towards the rear end of the car). Is there anything special I need to know about this or is it pretty easy to do? Also my speedometer hasn't worked since I put the t-350 in a few years ago. They said they did not put a speedo gear in it. While it was apart I saw a gear that sits sideways in the bottom of the tailshaft. Does this need another gear to function properly?

Thanks

Its not bad. just be sure and change the bushing at the same time. On the speedo, you will have the one gear comming from the out side going in then one on the out put shaft its self just be sure the teeth are good on them and the one on the out put shaft dont spin on the shaft.

It's really pretty easy, I don't remember if I had to drain the fluid or not. You'll know when You pull the Driveshaft. If so, try to jack the rear of the car, high enough to stop it from leaking out.

Just completed this on mine...th350....getting the old seal and bushing was a pain....putting it back in was easy...just a socket the same size as the bushing to drive it in...oh, you'll need to drain the fluid or you'll have a nice mess..also check the rubber gasket that is on the housing...
