: 67 El Camino needs clear deflector inside taillight.

Does anyone have the clear plastic light deflector that goes inside the 67 El Camino taillight housing. I have one but the other is cracked and broken on one side. I assume that these lenses are made to deflect light from the bulb and disburse the taillight and turn signal light more evenly. I've looked through the catalogues but can't seem to be able to locate new ones.

Do you have any pic's Doug? I have a couple of pairs of 67 tail light lenses but can't figure out what 'deflector' your talking about. Except for the lenses themselves, the 67 tail lights are a very neglected item in the aftermarket.

I ran across one on ebay a while back, but thats about the only one I have seen, unless you can find someone parting out a car. I have been looking for the chrome frames without luck. Mine are pitted but can't find better.

I'm sorry but I don't know how to send pictures. (If there is a simple explanation of how to insert pictures I'd appreciate that information also.)

The clear lens I'm looking for is inside of the taillight housing. In order to see it you have to take the red outer taillight lens off. It just sits on a gasket inside and isn't screwed or bolted in place. As far as I know it is used to deflect the light from the bulb and disburse the light more evenly throughout the entire taillight housing. I've seen the taillights without them and all the light you see is the bulb itself. It just doesn't light up the entire taillight lens. Thanks for your help.

The taillight housings are very hard to find. I do have a right housing that is in good shape but the left is pitted. I had to send off a pair to "The Chrome Shop" in Rock Island, Il. to have them rechromed. It wasn't cheap($280) but I quess there isn't any other choices. Taillight housing frame gaskets are even harder to find.

Concerning your question how to insert pics:

get member for free at http://photobucket.com/

There you can upload pics in different resolutions (from 100 x 75 - called "Tiny" - up to 1 megabyte file size -- only costs you more time to load up).

Under each picture you´ve loaded up there are 4 columns, the lowest one named "IMG code". Just copy and paste this code in your post - et voilà, there you go...

Be careful - the higher the resolution you´ve chosen when uploading the bigger the picture will appear in your post. Normally, 15" (800 x 600) or 17" (1024 x 768) will be more than enough...

Cheers

Here´s an example for 15" (800 x 600):

Thank you very much for taking the time to explain that for me. It makes it a lot easier to describe things online. Muchas Gracias!!

I finally found out how to get a picture of it, I Think? (Thanks to Tom Brandl!)

Maybe this will help describe what I'm looking for.

Do you need two?

I have to look but I think I might have some an extra one. Maybe two.

Doug628, you´re welcome...

Only one last hint: you copied the second of the four lines just below the Photobucket thumbnail, being named "Direct link".

This will result in a link that can be activated, for example like this:

http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p193/TomBrandl/DSC03075.jpg

In the moment you´ll click on this link the picture will open.

But you can make it even easier... Don´t copy the second but the fourth line, namend "IMG code". This will result in a picture like this:

http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p193/TomBrandl/DSC03075.jpg

Same picture, first as a link, then as the pic itself. BTW, this time it´s 640 x 480 (called "large"; you can choose the resolution/reduction just below the upper central button "Upload images & video/Choose files")

Take care

Tom

If you do have two I would be interested in buying them. Please let me know if you find them. Thanks!

Let me try this again. Here's another attempt at adding a photo.

Please bear with me!

OK! I think with your help I finally got it!
