I just received my remote oil filter kit today from Summit. As this is all I have left to do before I fire this new big block, I am anxious. However, I got under the car tonight and just can't get a warm fuzzy feeling about where to mount the filter base. The kit came with 30" hoses. Anyone got an idea for a location?

I put my under the master cylinder on my 70, but I don't have fender wells either. We had this same post a few days ago.

All I'd recommend is that it's placed away from any source of heat (headers) and also such that the filter is pointing downward. For some reason, it's not uncommon to see filters mounted on the inner fender such that it's IMPOSSIBLE to remove the filter without it leaking oil everywhere.
