Excellant LS6 Clone candidate......

On a September built van Nuys car? :noway:

Sometimes it's better just to sift through the BS and look at what you've got in front of you.

Body Shell and a bad Frame, but could make a good project if priced right.

John, That's impressive! How did you find that? By the production number?

Yes Sir, the VIN tells the story and will always exclude this as a potential, original LS6 because of the low production number. Earliest Documented LS6 introduction was in the December time frame.

it looks solid, if that car was in toronto area it would be sold...

I wonder how many SS cars came with poop colored interior.

That's a good one Marty! Actually, there were quite a few of them.

Maybe, but not with that sweep style dash.... :noway:

that sweep dash was a extremely rare option on LS6's. May be 1 of 1 especially with the poop color.:D

In the title add it says 396 clone. It no where says that is an original LS6 car. ;)

No, it says it's an Excellant candidate for an ls6 Clone and LS6 Clones are bringing Big Bucks because you can't tell if it's real or not.

Except.... you can in many instances, and this is one of them.

Its worth about $2500-3000 as is IMHO and experience.
Too bad about the frame..certainly need to literally pull a favor for that fix!

1970 Chevelle “Rare Factory Red” Cowl Tag 75 75 Great Color Combination.
Not many Chevelles were painted Red from the Factory. Yep, not too many red 70 Chevelles left either. l:)

Another 70 Malibu VIN for the database.

John Now I have to question yours. Why would you go to such extremes and not even have the correct dash. You seem to have missed such a opportunity.;)

Jimi Hendrix must have been thinkin' of you when he wrote Purple Haze. As you pass thru it and stumble upon your car one thing remains constant. It is a great car. The hype and BS do not count as the car speaks for itself.

Hype and BS? You must have read my Web page. :D

It's just an Example of a Guy trying to Sell the Sizzle, not the Steak...

It's really us, that have the issue for being nit-pick, detail freaks. :D

I agree, my first car was a 70 Malibu, with all the BS around 70 cars, I don't know that I would want to own one again

BS surrounding '70 cars? They are cloning every year Chevelle out there. I love '70's. I always have and I always will.

Buy the car not the story.

Gotta agree with you on that one. Right down to swapping VIN's and Cowl tags on 67 Malibu's and telling the "used to be an L78" Story.

Hmm. Well now that is just plain dishonest, not to mention illegal. I am trying to get a former neighbor to sell me his '67 Super Sport. In the process of re doing under the hood they sanded down the trim tag. You can barely make out the 138 part of the vin.

The funny thing is, thirty years from now we all will be looking at pictures of the Chevy Cobalts and new Malibu's on trailers without noses and such trying to figure out if it's a real SS or not lol.

when I first got my 70 project, theres was a guy in town that really wanted it because the car was a 4 speed, AC car. He wanted it to clone into a LS-5 car with air/4 speed combo. Seemed to know what he was talking about. I just cloned it into something I wanted back in highschool. jim
