: Frame where lower control arm rusting away

Guys,

I was trying to figure out why my 69 chevelle convt was leaning on the driver side. I found that the area on the frame where the lower control arm attaches to is rusting away. So much so that the metal is folding and causing the lean. I realize that its now dangerous to drive. What's my options here? Can this repaired reliably for a reasonable $$$? Thanks for your advice.

Can't tell from your prior posts if this is a numbers matching car - ??
Sounds like your going to need a frame ,possibly for a donor section or ,worse case ,replacement of your current frame.
You talk to any body shop's yet ?

Yup. numbers match. I plan to take it to a shop next. Just wanted to bounce it off you guys first. I'll try to post some pics of the damage. What does replacing a section entail? Does that mean cutting away that whole left front part of the frame or just cutting away the rusted area and replacing the metal. So I assume that this is going to cost some $$$ either way. Sorry for my ignorance. I'm not a body or frame guy.
