I need to corral the heat off my headers. I have talked to some folks that have had their headers coated with good results. What company is the best to ship to for this service?

Jet Hot Coatings, no doubt. They are rather pricy though, I just got an estimate on getting some longtube headers coated and it was $280. For that price you could just buy new headers, but I've heard its worth it!

jet-hot also sells them already coated, i opted for that to save shipping charges and time..

If you send them to Jet Hot, ask them about the different kinds of coatings. The shiny alum coating is pretty, but it isn't the best at keeping the heat out of the engine compartment.
I believe the flat black is better. And I think they have an even newer coating that's better than the black.

I'm running the Dynomax coated and they seem to keep the engine compartment temperature down quite a bit. This ceramic based technology that originated within NASA for space/aerospace works quite well. Oh, I'm a ceramic engineer and its quite a simple system.

Jet Hot is one of the original coaters of headers and I expect they also apply their coatings to other companies headers. The shiny aluminum colored coating is a ceramic "phosphate type" bonded aluminum compound that has very low emmissity and keeps the heat inside the header surface or in the exhaust stream. If you have a spray gun you can even go to a company called Tech-Line coatings and buy their water-based pre-ceramic coating, apply it to abrasive blasted headers, dip the insides, dry, heat to 500 for 2 hours, then polish the dull coating with steel wool or an abrasive/tumbling media to produce the jet-hot final coating product.

I DO NOT recommend doing this, but thats basically what Jet Hot and others do to apply and produce the coatings on headers and other parts.

Just go with Jet-Hot, DynoMax's, other any other well known company that sells a quality header and you'll be fine, having a shiny, protected header and cooler engine compartment temperatures.
