Currently have a 69 L78 396 in my Chevelle for the past 18 years which I'm thinking of upgrading thus selling the L78.
Block Casting Number: 3955272
Block Date Code: D 2 9 (April 2, 1969)
Right Deck Pad: T0407JH = 375 HP, 4 bolt main
VIN: 19W46XXXX
Head Number is 3919840 with the following date codes: Left Bank= C27 9; Right Bank= C26 9. These are the factory rectangular port heads.
Original GM Winters Industries Intake number is 3933163, did not take the motor apart to see it's date code.
Factory deep grove pulleys on the water pump and crank.
It has the original bore, deck, forged pistons, dimpled rods and forged crank inside.
Have the 780 Holley carb (in my attic) which can be included if needed: LIST-3310-1, 0524, believe it may have been a factory replacement.
I went through the motor back in 1990 before installing it in my Chevelle (installed new bearings and rings just to be safe, no machine work was needed). It has since been in the car and gets driven very little during the summer.
