Will aluminum cylinder heads make an engine run cooler or warmer? I have purchased a set to install and it has stock heads on it now and the temp runs 200 to 210. I installed 4000 cfm fans and so far that does not seem to help any. I did not buy the heads to cool it down just wanted to know what to expect. It is a 1971 with a 454.

Where is your temp sender installed and what stat are you running?
A sender mounted in the head will read about 10 to 15* higher than in the intake. So if you have a 190* stat, The head will read 200 to 205*.
As for the Aluminum heads. Aluminum dissipates heat better so they typically will run a little cooler than iron heads.

Interesting comment on engine temps.
My Elky has a 180* stat and reading at the driver head yesterday was 190-195*
