my local junk yard has 2 gear boxes one for a luredo (sp) and one for a limited both 1996 jeep GC which one should I get.

i got the GC gearbox on mine and works like a charm:thumbsup:

the guy at the yard asked it I needed if for the limited or the laredo is one not a GC I know that I need one form a GC.

All I know is that You need the GC. Cross check it at the part's store.

THe laredo one should work fine, check the sweep angle as well as the number of turns from lock to lock. Think it was 3.1 turns.

A good option is to get one from your local Auto Zone, Advanced, etc for a GC of the proper year. Use your Chevelle box as a trade. You end up with the appropriate box, rebuilt, guaranteed, and with the core its not a lot more than you paid for your 40,000 mile box.

on the jeep grand box did you guys remove the little metal deal inside the one hose hook up.
