Hey guys, I have a general question about electric pumps. Do they actually pull fuel from the tank, or do they only push fuel. I am asking because I am getting ready to fire the new motor on the test stand next weekend. I have my pump mounted on the stand, and a tank for the fuel. The fuel pump is mounted about 1 1/2 ft off the ground. If I set the fule tank on the ground will the pump pull the fuel? or do I need to se the tank up on something so it will gravity feed to the pump?

It will pull, but it is better at pushing then pulling. So the recommended setup is to have it gravity fed and then push to the motor. You'll be Ok for the test, just prime it.

Gravity feed will be MUCH easier on the pump. No pump likes pulling.
