Hello Great site Guy's..... I currently have a 1966 Malibu that My Dad and I are in the middle of restoring. I've allways dreamed about have a 66SS396 but could never aford to buy one. So My dad and I found this 66 Malibu that we are going to clone. My Mom and my Wife both think my Dad and I are waisting our time and Money, and don't think we can do this.
We can't wait to prove them WRONG.
We've had this Car for alittle over a year now and really to us we've come along long way. Last fall we had the body meda-blasted to see what we have to work with. Then over the winter we bought all the body panels that we need to repair the body. Two weeks ago we removed the rusty body from the frame. We are starting with the frame first. It's in my Garage stripped all the way down to just the frame. It is ready for the Sand blaster. Then we are going to do some repairs that are need to it and beef it up a alittle.
I've been doing some research on the restoration and I stumbled across this site. So far I like what I see here. I look forward to learning lot's from you all.

Welcome to a group you won't leave. Have fun with your project. Replace what needs replacing. "If you don't have time to do it right the first time - when will you have to to correct it!" a moto I keep in mind.

Mark,
Welcome to the site. Sounds like you are going to do it correctly. Take your time the first time. It's not fun doing it over again when things don't come out the way you want them too. As you said you will finds lot of info on this site. Most questions have been ask. Good luck on your project and post some pictures soon. If you are not sure how to post pictures below, or you can use a host site like photobucket.com.

Welcome Mark.
Sounds like you've got a great Father/son project.
Like others said. Take as long as it takes to do it right. Remember this simple rule. Calculate time and cost. Now double the time and triple the cost.

P.S. WE WANT PICTURES!!!!!!!!:D
