Does anyone know what the range of a standard O2 sensor? The one I'm referring to would be an Autometer. By range I mean from max. lean to max. rich on the guage.

Thanks!!

most of them claim 10:1 to 20:1, however they are only accurate @ 14.7:1 (stoch). a NBO2 is ONLY good for cruise & part throttle, if you want to do WOT tuning you have to go with a WBO2.

IMO, the best deal in the market right now is http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/lm1.php

Thanks Bob, I realize from what I've read they are only truly accurate @ 14.7. So if that 10-20:1 is true I'm cruisng @ 20:1. I was thinking maybe 16:1, seems 20:1 would hardly run.

Thanks!! Jim,

The reality is that they are a waste of time and money especially when compared to a wide-band.

Jim,

I didn't add in the part where I tried to use one, so I am not shooting from the hip when I say that.

I have tuned with Exhaust Gas Temperatures, but using both a wideband and EGT is a great way to fine tune.

The ultimate check comes at the strip though.

Good Luck with Santa

The reality is that they are a waste of time and money especially when compared to a wide-band Now this is a little false. Yes a wideband is way better, and if you can afford one you should get it. But if you know the limitations of a narrow band they can be quite handy. They are pretty handy for tuning idle and cruise. And great at helping with stumbles. Gauge goes way lean, or way rich. Doesn't tell you how much they are off be it gives you a direction to work in.
