I was thinking of building up my 383 a little more over the winter, and it seems my next logical step would be the Victor jr. eddy heads, intake and big holley.. I am currently running Eddy RPM heads @ 11.0 to 1 compression, rpm intake and 750 carb. I want to get it up to around 525-550 hp but on pump gas and I would like it to not be a total PITA to drive on the street. is this doable??? I have a 280 H magnum cam, 1.5 full roller rockers, 4 bolt main 350, Je forged pistons, Eagle rods, callies crank. I am sure the bottom end will take it no prob, but I am concerned about the amount of cam needed, and the subsequent stall speed needed for my TH350.Don't really wanna be winding it up to 3-3500 rpm at a stoplight you know? thanks for the help. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

if you have 11 to 1, I would set up to a bigger solid cam and have your rpm heads ported by a professional with a flowbench. even if you had a 3,000 stall, you don`t need to rev it up that high to get moving. Some converters are pretty tame for street driving. It just depends on what you can deal with. You`ll rev a little more than stock to get going but sometimes you won`t even notice it`s there untill you hit the gas.
