street/strip application
about 1000 miles and 50 passes per year, there are a few grinds i'm looking at,

cam motion>advertised 305/315 measured @.020,
@.050 269/278
@.200 182/186
.680/.646 lifts
112 lsa
seat timing @.020 44.5/80.5
93.5/41.5
--------------------------------------------------
comp cams xe,advertised 304/310 measured @.015
@.050,266/272
@.200,187/193
.677/.687 lifts
110 lsa
seat timing @?? 21/65

Eric..Since no one has replied so far, and even though I don`t qualify as a cam expert, until one shows up I`ll offer an alternative to a solid roller that is more cruise friendly.

We use a cam that is working well in a 540' type motor and is driven to and from the track to local shows etc...

It`s a UD Hyd roller.
The specs are 304/304 Adv. 255/255 @ .050 (180 @.200) .650/.650 lift on a 110 sep.
Single pattern obviously.

This cam uses spring pressures of 140# @ 1.940 and 400# @ 1.250

With 3.73 gears we are trapping 6500 RPM.

What ET are you looking for BTW?
If you want mid to low 10`s this cam will do it smile.gif

They use the Dart 335 heads but should be close to what your looking for.And they have 3 version's of pump gas 540's.

bigredL72,your buddy's camaro is what inspired me to run a rectangle port stroker motor!!

10 teens at 130+ is the quickest and fastest no trailer 3700# car i know of PERIOD.

my 55 chevy is much less aerodynamic and will need alot more power to mph like that.which has always been my goal.

i ran a solid roller for 6 years in my old 502 with luck,so i would like to try it again, this time increasing the intensity enough to make power, but not kill parts.it was an ultradyne solid roller,251/260 @ .050 .630 lifts on a 110.

the afr 335's will like 6800 rpm's,so that is where i'll cam it for this time.

ricksrat,i would like to know what cam is in the radical version of the ultrastreet 540.
