: Newb with 1st Chevelle!
rushgator Jun 10th, 08, 8:27 PM Hello everyone!
Just wanted to stop by and say hi. Just purchased a 72 Chevelle coupe with the original 307/350 combo. It is a straight, solid car, but it does need a complete overhaul (unless Foose kidnaps it tonight...LOL) So, needless to say, as the project unfolds, I'll be on here a bit to ask a few questions, and read a lot. I've learned that mistakes are expensive, but learning from other people's mistakes is cheaper!

Welcome and it looks like you have nice 72 to work on. Your right mistakes cost, I know I have made a few. There are a lot of people willing to help you out. Just be sure to ask them in the correct forums to get a quicker answer. Good luck on your car.

72 468/400chevelle Jun 13th, 08, 5:44 PM Welcome Glenn. That body looks mighty straight and from what I can see, the door seams look a lot tighter than mine. Good luck.

Highway Star Jun 13th, 08, 5:51 PM nice dude!!! what are you going to do to it? another small block? big block? what color? welcome!!!
rushgator Jun 13th, 08, 7:26 PM Many thanks for the warm welcome. Yeah, I have been blessed with a very straight car to work on. Bought it from a family member that didn't have time to work on both it and his '57 Chevy 210 post. It's a local car, bought from a local dealer in Paris, TX, July, 31 1972 (still have the protect-o-plate) According to the Vin and cowl tag, the car was built in Arlington in June 1972. This car may have never left the state. That may explain the rust free body and floorpan. For those who like the numbers, my VIN is 1C37F2Rxxxxxx. I'll probably go the direction of a "restomod". I'm going with an SS interior, SS paint scheme (probably Sebring Silver Metallic with charcoal rally stripes), 17" wheels, 4 wheel disc brakes, Hotchkis TVS suspension, 200-4r OD Tranny, carburated 383 stroker SBC, w/ factory PS, PB, and AC. Now all I need to do is stand back and throw large wads of cash at it. :)
furball8994 Jun 13th, 08, 7:32 PM Welcome Glenn!! Looks like you've got a nice starter and a great plan.
