: Will this console work in my '68?

I've got what was originally a bench seat, 4-speed car. Meaning, I've got the offset shifter hump. I can't use a regular console as a result.

HOWEVER! The '68-72 Pontiac Lemans/GTO 4-speed console has the offset.

Anyone tried this? Is the floor pan the same in the GTO with the 4 speed?

Thanks in advance!

Both of our '69s are factory bench seat cars with the shifter hump in the middle. '68s were the same from the factory. The '67 and earlier had the offset hump. If you adapted a Pontiac hump piece to the tunnel you could use this console.

Thanks, sorry, I think I misspoke. The hump is offset. It isn't a simple hole coming out of the middle of the hump. This is the 2nd factory 4 speed '68 I've had this way. The hump is welded on. I've been told a factory console won't work with my car as a result. I just took a look and the shifter does appear centered, but the hump sits slightly more towards the driver side.

I guess I wouldn't need a console with that big of an offset?
