since so many guy's voted - they like onion's , what's your all time burger , home made of course ! , & what do you slop on it ? . thought i'd start monday so maybe we'll have a few choices by saturday . some of the top seller's i used to flip when i had my my bar & grill / truckstop in northern ont . you can either marinate them , or cook em up fresh . marination method ; - put whatever burger amount on a flat oven pan , pre cook , halfway , still pink , take them out & stab them with a fork while you pour your favourite sauce over them . honey / garlic , sweet & sour , orange marinade , teriaki & brown sugar , or ? , plus spices of your choice ; meat tenderizer , chili peppers , black pepper , garlic salt or the real deal , diced onion , bread crumbs & egg , or ; three i usually use - 1. worchestire & thyme , 2. ketchup & brown sugar , 3. italian seasoning & chili peppers , go easy on the spices or test one . put them back in the oven for final cook ,then ; you can let them cool put em in fridge , & just re;heat them , micro or oven .great when your having a large gang over , their already done , gives ya more time for a cold one ! . fresh burger ; make two burger patties , put a ring slice of pineapple , & same width peach slice , along with your fav- sauce & spices , any good white cheeze , on top of one of the burger patties , now put the other one on the top & do it up on the outside like a pie . cook em low & slow . they don't need any additives ! . ketchup etc , it only ruines the flavour . take one bite you'll know why . ok boy's & girl's , let's see what ya got ! gotta try something new this wknd . also what's your favourite beer to go with your burger & do you cheeze or no cheeze . tommy :beers:

I like the works! Lettuce, Tomatoes, Bacon, Mayo, Ketchup, cheddar cheese, pepperochini's. They have the burgers in the supermarket with onions in them. They're unbelievable.

Angus Chuck, sesame seed bun, toasted or not, grilled, not fried, with sweet hamburger chip pickles, katsup mustard and on occasion american cheese with bacon added. Darn I wish Hunts would bring back that katsup they used to have, the hickory flavored one, that stuff was great on a burger.

And sorry Rachel god did not intend for a hamburger to have mayo on it! ewwwwww

I'm a pretty simple man. A good old fashioned bacon cheeseburger with onions, lettuce, tomato, ketchup, and mayonaise. :)

I used to make the patties with onion soup mix and worchester sauce, now they come preformed from the butcher so my daughter said they used to soak cooked burgers at the race track in Mountain Dew. Tastes good.

I do mine a little different. This recipe comes from years of Italian style cooking as it would best relate to the summertime American backyard. The world's best Burger:

1/4 pound patties made of top sirloin with bits of gorganzola cheese, sea salt & cracked pepper, marinate overnight in a little Bourbon & steak sauce. Lightly coat the outside of the patty with olive oil. (this will create a crispy exterior while keeping the 'burger' moist inside) wrapped in saran wrap. When you're ready, remove plastic and get it on a HOT Grille! Cook to your liking.

Lightly toast two thick slices of FRESH Italian bread & spread a little butter onto them.

Add finely cubed red onion, tomatoes, and smear some spicey mustard on it.

Get a nice 16 oz frosted mug from the freezer and add your favorite beverage. = Near heaven as you can get!

If you want a more American traditional taste, substitute in Velveeta cheese and use any kind of bakery fresh rolls. The bread is 50% of the final product. No matter how good the meat is, if the bread is store bought crap off the shelf, the sandwich is only 1/2 of what it could be.

Some of my favorite tricks for good burgers:

1: Mix in some ground pork (about 20-30%), it adds a lot of flavor. You can also use some bacon grease, in case you can't find ground pork.

2: Add a little bit of liquid to the ground meat, it makes the patties much juicier. Water and marinade is a good mix for this.

3. Grill on low heat. Let them cook, don't burn them.

4. Drink about 8-10 beers while fixing the burgers. Then you won't care if they are good or not.

grill onions in a pan w/ oil, butter - whaever. When done, remove and grill meat in same pan .... when done add american cheese and put patty and onions on a slice of dark rye bread that is buttered on the outside. Add other slice of dark rye and grill on pan (like a grilled cheese sandwich)

This is so good you can actually FEEL your veins filling up.

You can't live forever!

Grill burger until rare...rare, but not cold. Place on bottom half of burger bun or better yet, a hard roll. Tumble as much as sea salt as you can tolerate on it, and then double that amount with ground pepper. Spritz some HEINZ ketchup on, add three or four small, raw red onion slices and a few sliced dills. Place remaining bun or roll atop aforementioned mixture. Eat.

Respectfully,
John R.

Oh lawd! That makes me want to gag, but whatever floats your boat I guess.

I'm a minimalist, meat, cheese, bun is all I need. I like to use cheddar, swiss and provolone, I'll settle for american at a burger joint. Only other things allowed are bacon, more meat, onion, more meat, different cheeses, and more meat! :D

Man, I used to eat some nasty food when I was in weightlifting but now, I really like it! They are so unique, even my family pokes fun at me for them! LOL, here it is:
1. Take a boca (yes that's vegetarian!) heated in the micro (makes it moist)
2. Take two 1/4lbs lean ground beef patties and put one on top and one on bottom of boca patty.
3. Grill to medium rare-done
4. Add horseradish and jalapenos
5. Serve on whole wheat bun
:D
It does sound gross but it actually is pretty good and LOADED with protein and healthy fats! The worst is when I would need more protein and I would get sick of the shakes, I would put tuna on top of the burger! Not even I ever acquired the taste for that!:noway:

My god I never heard of ketchup on a burger except for McDonalds kiddie burgers. Dave got it the closest to the way I like it. Onion soup mix worchester, raw egg and some garlic powder mix and chill. Get you mesquite wood burning untill it has a low flame and throw the patties right above the fire with freash whole japenoes and tomatoes on the grill. musturd on a onion bun with the smoked peppers and mators and sliced purple onion on top. If you have to wipe your elbows off from juice after each bite then you cooked the right. ketchup is for fried tators.

My wife adds Lipton beefy onion soup mix to the ground chuck before cooking. Adds lots of flavor.
