I'm a solid cam sorta guy so I vote for it!

And you know they are totally different cams, spec-wise so you may want to zero in on two closer spec'ed matched cams to choose between, imho...

Isky's 280 Mega on 108 centers should "better" match the Z-45. I don't look much bigger then these two so you will need to look over what's offered to match the 292 Mega cam in a solid..

It might be a Z-60??????

One thing I might like to mention here... And that is the idle of these cams. The solid one does have a nice lope to it but not really rough...The 292 hyd will have a rougher idle than the solid cam will.If you are running a stock OE type Qjet ( especially if it's a later emmissions carb) then the idle circut could " possibly " be abit too lean to really work well with these cams. The 292 especially wont likely be idleing with any much more than 11 in of vac if that.

The reasoning between these 2 cams is that I have one of each, and I am wondering which would be better/stronger.

My Q-jet is an older worked version - plus I have a Holley 750 Vac Sec that I can try.
