: What a great site and good people we have!

I recently found a 68 Charger R/T that had been sitting since 2001. All original but needs extensive work. I had no clue to what it is worth so I put a post here thinking someone had delt with MOPAR's. Got a couple nice responses. Now the rest of the story. Found a Dodge site and signed up with my post. I started a mini battle between the members on wether the site is for new Dodge's or and old Dodge's. Here are some of the quotes:

uummm! dude. this site is mostly about new chargers. if it needs a full restore plan on around $3000-$5000 tops to pay for it. hows the floor pans and trunk? is the roof around the rear window bondo'd up? if so a wouldnt touch it. then plan on around $60.000 to restore it to mint.

I never seen anything that says its just for the new Dodge Chargers.

Just thought it was Charger Forums too. Good to see ya. I was actually wondering to myself the other day why you don't see a few older Charger owners lurking around here. I'd love to own a 69 Charger one day if not a 69 Stingray. Love both cars (http://www.chargerforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78855#) but don't think the wife would go for both. http://www.chargerforums.com/forums/images/smilies/new/grin.gif But anyway from what you said and from my own browsing of old cars on ebay the 5-10 grand number doesn't sound too far off for something that needs a good bit of work, just depends on how much. Good luck on the Charger.

In my opinion, this is not a technical site and the majority of people here are more interested in fuzzy dice and boomer speakers. The percentage of people here that actually have true mechanical knowledge, I think, is about 3%. This is not where true motor heads and grease monkeys hang out. In my opinion, this forum is more for the everyday Joe.

Our members seem to go out of their way to help people.

I got a kick out of this and guessing most members are younger and have the new Dodge Charger.

This is the best all around site on the planet. If you have any question's in regards to other makes other than a chevelle the question is Welcomed. The member's of this community are real car guy's. The information on this site is like no other. Thanks Team Chevelle. I'm sure thousands of chevelle's have made it from start to finish because of the help and information from concerned members. You Guy's are great!!

Any time I have been stumped or just need advice I have found that this site is by far the best out there for decent people and a helpful atitude.

I belong to many forums from my hobby as a "Sporting rifle" builder and a Snowmobiler and hands down this forum NEVER lets me down and I don't believe I have ever run across a "Jerk" here either.

Truly a class act here.
I hope it remains this way.

I joined another similar site for Dodge Intrepids (my daily driver). Dude...it's a weird vibe over there, man! And there are only about 1/2 dozen people that seem to answer any questions. I finally got myself a factory service manual and said "adios"!

Not so with TC...it's like an addiction for me! Hopefully the boss doesn't find out how much time I spend!!! ;)

X2 !!!

Nothing like a slow day at work to get caught up on my addiction now that snowmobiling is done for the year!

Also, when I find myself beginning to lose a little interest (Temporarily) in the car hobby I can always get the juices flowing by reading the great posts and threads here and regain the fanaticism all over again.

...And the best part is that it's free! That's why I became a "Team Member" a long time ago. It's so cheap compared to what I have saved here. I can't believe they spend all this money to keep this thing afloat. I, for one, and glad to chip in. It's an amazing resource. Now, if I could get them to double my salary (2x0=0)

I wholeheartedly agree that this is a really good site. The tech advise from people here has been outstanding in helping me with my 66.

I also try to share useful advise when it seems appropriate, even if some of mine comes from brand F experience.

I also started this hobby with a 68 Charger, a full scale replica of the General Lee, except for the flag on the roof, back in 85. (383 4-v 4 spd) Had to part company when it got a bit too expensive. Would have been a good car to have kept I guess, knowing the current situation with Mopars. At that time it was near impossible to find good used Mopar stuff, and there were few reproductions.

The Chevelle will be much easier, although not inexpensive, to get through, with y'alls help.

Great people here to go along with great information! When I was requesting information on this site about the 67 GTO I was buying, I got some really helpful feedback.

On the other hand....I got very little feedback from the GTO site, maybe they are like the Corvette guys. thats why we are called TEAM CHEVELLE.

Earlier this week, I had just thought about how much I use this site, and how much more I know from being here. It's a LOT. I bet even "experts" learn a lot from the others here.

So - I just re-upped and sent in $40 a day ago... couldn't hurt. And this site has saved me WAY more than that....

The knowledge base of the members here is second to none in the Bowtie world. But what I'm starting to see is it goes much deeper.....Its almost a brotherhood of sorts where your free to discuss just about any and everything. With the economic situation were all now faced with some projects may be forced to the back burner, but the caring of the members will remain burning brightly.
