After researching many options for parts washing fluid at home, it seems Simple Green is the way to go. With worries of fire hazards, fumes and voiding your homeowners policy flamable solvents are a poor option.

Safety Kleen aslo has a good safe washing fluid, but its difficult to have them deliver to your home.

For those of us with metal parts washers, I have been able to locate the supplier for the additive that prevents Simple Green from rusting your tank. If your interested drop me an email with a fax number. I will fax all the info to you.

Of course although the substance is safe to work with you will still have to dispose the used product safely. Check with your township on discarding properly.

No question that safety is of utmost importance. But all the solvents that I have seen/used over the years are very difficult to light. That is the only flammable substance that I do not worry about around my place. And when it starts getting used and a little dirty it is even less volatile.
