For all that are interested.........

Here's what we started with in January after assembling the car in about two months.

This is March after we disassembled the car, including cutting out the existing cage and test fitting the tall deck 580 with the big tube headers.

This is April, after we are almost finished stripping the floors and firewall of all the old paint.

Front crossmember on a spare frame is being modified to handle a motor with a 4.750" stroke.

Finally the firewall is being smoothed and is almost ready for paint.

Tony,
I love the stance of that car! What are the rear tire and rim sizes.
Thanks , Mitch.

Mitch,

The car uses 15x5 Welds and a 205/70/15 on the front and 15x10 Welds with 5.5" BS and 28x13.50 ET Streets on the back. The fenderlips had to be rolled for clearance and as long as you don't try road racing the car around turns, nothing rubs.

The car looks good, but sits too low in the front as I cut the springs a little much trying to get the stance right. They'll be replaced with the QA1 coilovers during the buildup.........

Nickel333,

I'm a telcom manager and make out pretty well, but I've owned this car for 16 years now and I've been dreaming of doing this whole deal since I was 10!! That gives you alot of time to save!!

Brian,

Thanks for the comments and I appreciate the 'bump'!! Hopefully you'll be able to see the car in action soon!!

Thanks to all the others for the positive comments, I appreciate it very much. I'll have more pics soon as I went down yesterday and the mid plate is in, the front motor plate is being fitted and the underside of the car will be painted this week!!
