I'm in the middle of my pro-street build now and rounding up parts as I can. I spoke with my racecar builder a few days ago about driveshafts and he told me to get a shaft from a late model short-bed GMC or Chevrolet pickup that came with a V-8. We'll I hit the jackpot yesterday. I found a 94 Chevrolet truck with an aluminum driveshaft. I pulled it myself and got it for $30. This is probably a $350 driveshaft. All I need to do now is have it shortened to accomodate the 700 and roll! By the way, this driveshaft is huge. It's twice the diameter of my factory one.:beers:

Will it fit?
It will when I'm done with it. The shaft will need shortening to fit my new 700 tranny. I'm going with the large diameter truck shaft for extra strength.

I was talking about the diameter. I don't think the one on my truck would fit without modifying the floor.

I mocked it up earlier today and it will fit the tunnel fine.

Davis,
You made a heck of a find & deal. I rebuild vehicles for a living & just recently had to buy an aluminum drive shaft for an 05 gmc sierra extended cab short bed - I had to get it from the dealership because there are 17 different driveshafts for this particular truck - It cost me (I even get a builders discount from them) $627.96 - again, nice score!
