I changed out my gears last week and started a thread under performance... I sure would love to get some of my fellow NW Chevelle owners opinions / predictions on this one

I just changed from 331s to 373s. I'm running a 26" tire at the strip to lower my ratio and still have some lower RPMs with the OD when I run street tires. When I change my rear end housing, I may go up to 391s.

Careful asking this question here, everyone will try and talk you in to 456s:D

First the disclaimer... track temps tonight were in the mid 60's... Without a doubt it was cool and a good night for racing even though the track itself was not that great...(my previous best was on October 28th last year so it was pretty cool then as well) and I did install stud girdles prior to racing tonight...

With that said and out of the way out of 12 runs (yes 12 runs in less than 3 hours) at Pacific Raceways in Seattle... I ran a best tonight of:

Tonights best ET Slip with 3.73's
R/T .060
60' 1.655
330 4.738
1/8 7.351
1/8 MPH 93.57
1000 9.635
1/4 11.586
1/4 MPH 115.34

This was my second run of the evening... after that I made minor adjustments (air pressure, shift points etc) and ran in the consistent 11.6 - 11.7's with poor 60 foot times (1.68 - 1.72)

Previous best Et Slip with 4.11's
R/T .640
60' 1.668
330 4.786
1/8 7.443
1/8 MPH 91.98
1000 (no time)
1/4 11.727
1/4 MPH 114.24

I picked up .141 seconds and 1.1 MPH with 3.73's... can't all be because of weather and stud girdles... all said and done for my combination and use I am thrilled! The car isn't caged so I am pushing the boundary with 11.58 there and it is defintely more streetable with 3.73's

If it was caged I woudl be all about the fogger system!

Nice, I hope We get out on Friday, but I'm kinda doubting it.

Congrats:yes:

It does seem odd though that it would even E.T. better at the first half of the track. It makes sense if you were running out of rpm with the 4.10s that you would do better on the back half, but I cant explain the first half.

You still should have a bit left in your 60fts also. Might be time for a 8" converter, rollbar, and some juice:D

Congrats! That's about as good as it gets for a dual purpose/non-caged car. An 11.5 street car is one bad machine.:beers:

I vote to squeeze it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Standard prescription from The Doc!

Much like the Army Medics and the PA (Physcian's Assistant) prescribing 800 mg MOTRIN for most everything.

Sick66,

Excellent improvement in your runs!
I'll have to look into those WED nite runs at Pacific....
