does anybody know the correct wiring for a stock 71 automatic console.

prostreet, there is a seperate harness for the console that plugs into the dash harness under the dash and feeds the lighting and neutral switch, also the courtesy lamp at the back of the console. Get an assembly manual as it has the wiring diagrams in it.

Actually there are two harnesses. One for the console itself then like Leo says an extension harness that connects the dash harness to the console harness. Check our sponsor I think they offer both for about $50 each.
