On Ebay, I saw GM part # 9643798, Luggage Compartment Sealing Strip, which looked like it fita bunch of late 60's to early 70's GM wagons. It goes under the luggage compartment panel if there is no third row seat. It sold for about $150 so needless to say I didn't win. Does anyone have the specifications for what this strip is like so I can fabricate a duplicate or know if a duplicate is for sale anywhere? Thanks.

If you are going to make them, I'll sign up for your first two sets, one for my '73 Chevelle and one for my '70 Vista Cruiser. If not, what are the dimensions of the strips? They looked like they were self-adhesive on one side. Is that right? It's probably way too picky for a component no one will ever see, but if you are going to restore a car, might as well do it correctly, right?

i am going to use my nos ones to make the reproductions. yes they are adhesive backed. look at you 73 and see if they would be the same length as the 70. i dont know much about 73 so you need to tell me if the same length as the 70 would work on the 73 or not.

From the parts manual diagrams and measurements in the car, it looks like it takes two strips, each one 13 inches long.

Could I ask where these strips go? I have been trying to figure it out but can't find them in my books, do they divide the dead area under the floor from the compartment? driving me crazy.

Thanks,
Allan

Thanks, I thought it was something like that, that area looks like it needs something to finish it.
