On the factory tachs what are the RPM red lines for the different 1969 Chevelle engines? I saw one at 6000 RPM and was woundering if the 396 375 HP engine had a higher redline. Thanks

In '69 the L78 and 427 Chevelles got the 6000 rpm redline when the tach and gauge package was ordered.

Joe,
The L78 got a 6500 redline tach not 6000.A 5500 redline was for base 396 engines

The "Red-Line" is a factory recomended max shift point... basicly don't go beyond just before the red and you should be okay.
