How much run time does a set of connecting rods need to have on them before they'd need reconditioning? Reason I'm asking is I need a set and a fellow has a set for sale that he states only had "break-in" time on them and are in "good shape" Probably the only way to tell is to have my machinist check them out?

Thanks

Scott,
That depends on his definition of "break-in" and "good shape". Some people feel that an engine is not completely broken in until over 100k miles and some may feel that good-shape means no holes in them. Best bet is have a machine shop check them out for you. It is quick and easy to do and the charges involved will be worth it.
