My fuel pump is really starting to worry me. Its a brand new holley blue electric fuel pump. The thing makes sooo much noise, and its very inconsistant. Sometimes it is louder than others, other times you cant even hear it. Its loud enough to where you can hear it over my 3 inch flowmaster exhaust that dumps right before the rear wheels. Im a newbie with electric fuel pumps, I hate them but I was forced to use one. So please give me some words of wisdom before I get stranded with this thing. Thanks.

i had mine mounted to the frame not the body to help keep noise level lower.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. They are loud. They are old technology pumps meant for race cars, so comfort was not a concern. Also since they are a non- return style pump the noise level and pump speed will change depending on engine rpm and fuel demand. I have a Magna fuel 500 pump that I can hear in the car over 4" collectors that end under your feet.

Adding a return regulator and return line will quiet it down quite a bit. And help the pump last longer too. Those Blue pumps are really loud..... I switched to a Carter electric after the last blue died, and it's much quieter.

Well that put my mind at ease alittle. Im going to look into that return line, this thing is just too noisy.

I'd carry a spare if driving on the street.

They are super loud, no matter how you mount them (bypass regulated or not). I have had several over the years. Each one was just as loud as the previous one.
I just switched to a mechanical pump from racepumps.com.
I love it!

I wish I could go mechanical but due to an extremley weird problem with the new 454 im not able to do it. The friggin fuel pump pushrod will not fit into the slot! Oh well guess im just going to have to deal with it. Thanks.
