depends on how dirty. if really dingy i use westley's bleach white whitewall tire cleaner.

I don't think I would want that stuff on my convertible top.
There has to be a better choice than that.

I've used Westley's Bleche White on a convertible top too. I agree that it's aggressive stuf, but the top came out a LOT whiter.

I am sure that it would come out whiter. I just think that it is doing more harm than good.
Cleaner looking for the moment but,..... how much damage is it doing to the top material?

I have a black top on my car, and do not have the troubles you guys with white tops have.

It was a 10 year old top and the Westley's was sort of a last resort. We put a regular cleaner/conditioner on immediately after to put some preservatives and moisture into the top. We had that car another five years with that same top still on it. For a couple of those years we had to store the car outside under a cover.

I'm am not at all suggesting this is a great thing to do to a top, but it does work.
