my sender for my electric fans isnt turning the fans on till about 195*. car runs about 180 driving and 200 at idle. Does anyone have a part # for a cooler sender. something around 170-175. thanks Dave

i thought 180deg was the best temp for ur engine to run, wouldnt anything lower make it run too cool?

The perma-cool 771-18907 has a threaded sender and has the same adjustability as the other one. Its just $10 more at 59.99 graemlins/sad.gif

John is right on the money,i have seen and read many articles over the yrs in hot rod/Super Chevy, etc from noted engine builders/designers that say 180-190 deg f is a very good place to be for good perf/efficiency.(all backed with data to prove it too)

I have also more than once tried 160/170 sdeg f stats making my cars run a little cooler for a while until all heats up/stabilizes and the motors are always a little sluggish beacuse the oil is not up to the proper temp along with the rest of the motor and i could really feel it and the performance was lacking when running too cool.

It's true that if your running warm in the
200-220+ deg f range that you will be loosing some perf/power but you say your motor is currently running at 180 deg f which is perfetly in the center of where you would neeed to be and i would not try to make it run any cooler than the 180 deg f IMHO.
