Anybody install one on a Chevelle. Seesm they fit the Camaros fine. I can cut, weld as necessary but hoping it is fairly straight forward.

The local exhaust shop installed a 2.5" exh back to 2.25 tailpipes on my '69 when I specifically asked for 2.5" out the back. Plus their hangers have all broken, and the fit was poor. If you want it done right....

Either way it is choked down so we'll see if this helps it.

Jake,I know some fellow TCers have bought the Jegs 2.5" system, and it fit good. The 3" system looks like its based on the 2.5"
Keep us posted..I've been wanting to get this system myself, but I only need the leadpipes..I want to keep my 2.5" tailpipes...full 3" is loud :D

I have heard of a lot of others guys doing the same thing, 3" off the headers w/ 2-1/2" tails. From what I have read, the exhaust cools down enough that it requires less pipe diameter for the volume. I have 2-7/8" od lite wall pipe at work (maybe even some 2-3/4" od tubing) that I was considering dropping in the first 3 - 4 feet off the headers to do the same thing. Not sure if this would help or not.

Chris,
I hope it ain't TOO loud.

My current system is using 2.5" Summit cheapy mufflers and sounds perfect, just chokes it.

I will be running the 3" Summit mufflers this time, and 3" all the way out. I hope the full length with the bends in the tail will be fairly quite.

I've ran 3" but always with Flows, Ultra-Flos, and usually dumped at the axle.

I don't mind if it gets LOUD on the trottle but cruising and idling I want mellow.

I have Flowtech terminators (i think they call em afterburners now)

They are very mellow and at 60 you can't hear them at all, but they get pretty snarly when you romp on it.

I'm sure they flow pretty good (you can see through them)

I've got the Jegs 3" system sitting in its box waiting to go in. Hopefully by the end of the month I will have it done. It looks good, and I hope it sounds good too!
