I took apart my 4150 double pumper with mech. secondaries to rebuild it. The front float was brass with a spring, and the rear was plastic, no spring. Are they suppose to be different?, is this some hot rodding trick or simply a replacement part?

The new floats you can buy are non brass. Some say that they won't get leaks (holes) in them like some brass do.
