: Best place to buy...
Purs Oct 28th, 04, 11:05 PM a Stewart Water Pump. I've looked at Summit and Jegs and they don't even have them... what's the deal? Do you guys think it's worth it (performance and durabiltiy) for the Stage 2 over the Stage 1? I've got to order one tomorrow. Thanks for the advice. graemlins/beers.gif
Wooderson Oct 29th, 04, 12:48 AM I bought mine direct at www.stewartcomponents.com (http://www.stewartcomponents.com) . Stage one is iron, Stage two is aluminum. Howard Stewart told me there was no performance advantage from the Stage one to Stage two.
Purs Oct 29th, 04, 6:36 AM thanks.

Busted Knuckles Oct 29th, 04, 7:29 AM I picked up a couple on ebay from a performance store that was selling out. These were aluminum stage II's for my Corvettes and I got both for about $200 shipped - saved a bundle. HTH
mc71454 Oct 29th, 04, 9:12 AM I have one new in the box (Stage 2), Can't find any fault with the workmanship based on inspection. I will be running it in the spring. Purchased right from Stewart.
Purs Oct 29th, 04, 10:16 AM thanks Tom! i guess I'll go with the stage 2.

I have a Stage 2 I bought FROM Tom last year! It works great, polished up nice, and knocked more than a few degrees off my temp (from a stock iron unit.)

Brit,
I have never heard anything bad about the Stewart Pumps..An E..br$%ck I had went bad after 1 year, my spare GM Cast Iron Crate Motor Take-off has been on my motor for 2 years ($5 at a swap meet). Will put the Stewart on over the winter.
Chris R Oct 29th, 04, 8:30 PM I have a Stewart in my 396 and I would have to look at the reciepts but im almost positive I got it from Summit. Did they say they dont have them?
Chris.
Purs Oct 29th, 04, 11:59 PM I didn't call Summit, but I did look at both Jeg's and Summit's website and couldn't find anything. I went ahead and ordered a Stage 2 from Stewart and ask the salesmen why neither Summit or Jegs carried what seemed to be a great product, to which he replied that they are very close to reaching a deal with Jegs.... Tom, I just recently swapped my short stock pump (which was working great) for a long pump setup and the long pump is leaking after only a few miles.... graemlins/angry.gif Anyway, what's another few hundred dollars at this point...
