They actually look pretty nice, You should email them & get the rear seat dimensions & see if it's close.

I think they're awesome looking. When I got mine redone I spoke to my guy about adding side bolsters to the front seats and he said it would require a whole new construction to get the proper support in the seat back. For what this guy is asking you get all the features you want plus premium leather.

I have been thinking the same thing. I have had several Audi's and the seats are very comfortable. I know for a fact that the sport seats are mfg'd by Recaro.
If you are serious about a potential seat swap, stop by a local "independent" dealer used car lot that sells Audi's. I believe they'll be much more accommodating to open up a few cars so you can get a quick measure, although having been in the retail automotive business, please respect their time. They will appreciate that a lot!
There is an automotive recycler that specializes in Audi parts in NY. http://www.shokan.com/ You might want to also contact them.
Based on my memory, the interior dimensions (width) of an A6, maybe even an A8 are much more similar to a Chevelle (much more important for the rear seat) than an A4, although the ft. sport seats are the same in all. The seats were mfg'd with leatherette (super high quality, most people are completely convinced they are leather), full grain leather and some with the Alcantera (fake suede) inserts.
Seat mounted airbag seats should be avoided.
The seats in the A4 came std with a manual driver side height adjustment and both ft. seats had manual recline. (The seats in the A6 were all power DS and manual or power on the PS) It is a parallelogram hinge set up. That means, unlike most cars that adjust by tilting, this 4 point hinge assembly is shaped like a squished "Z", so that when you lower the seat, it also moves back. When raising the seat it also moves forward. All in all, very accommodating.
Hope that helps,
Fred
