Having never had a spool before, Is it the norm for them to feel like the brake is on in a turn? When it straightens up it feels free again. My wife is going to shoot me also, since it leaves marks in the drive without giving it a little too much gas. Oh Well, Thanks ahead of time for your post.

Why scary on the street? The turning of corners?

They are "drivable " on the street but it is in your best interest to be pointed the direction you want to go before nailing the throttle. :D
I ran them years ago in a few "street" cars & locked rear ends will steer the car, are not real forgiving if it is wet etc.
With care & common sense they are not a big problem but you have to use caution as it is REAL easy to be heading a direction you didn't intend with them
And as Chris said they can be a bit hard on axles in corners especially with bg fat tires

well at the moment, I am going to use it on the street. I am running street tires, and I already realize from driving it a little, that it is squirrly. My rearend is my week point at the moment, and due to monetary constraints, i am running a mini spool in a pontiac 10 bolt. I am sure once i start driving it on the street, and my big block destroys the rear, not unless for some reason I fail to use the accelerator, I will be replacing that rearend with a 12 bolt with a Eaton posi unit in it. It is unfortunate that the 12 bolt in my truck is too narrow and is leaf springs. Oh well such is life.

That Poncho 10 bolt may suprise you, they are tough and the axles compare to a chevy 12 bolt graemlins/thumbsup.gif I ran one for several years in a 68 Camaro 427/nitrous and never had a problem. Well, that one time it hooked and broke the spring perch off the housing
