had a tornado rip about a 100 mile stretch thru NE iowa yesterday afternoon. a couple of towns leveled. fortunately i live 25 miles south of the path. my friends were not so fortunate and it really tore up their place. it tore the whole second floor off of the house down to the floor. i spent the day helping them pickup their belongs (most blown upto 1/2 mile from the house. i found a chunk of the fiberglass shower stuck 1" into a standing tree! luckily they all made it to the basement and were not harmed (all were covered in year old muddy cornstalks though). hope i never go thru what they are now. tom

Two things I dislike most about spring are Tornados and Hail. This year it seems Tornado's are going on a record breaking streak. Sorry about your friends home, the main thing is they all came out ok.

The same storms came through here on Saturday evening. Luckily, the tornadoes stayed about 15 miles away from us.

Sorry to hear of your friends loss. I had a close friend lose their home to a tornado a few years ago. Losing everything you own, especially the little stuff like pictures and memories, is a very hard experience to deal with. But they weren't hurt and we all know that's whats important. We had so many tornados here in OK Saturday that we lost count. Was watching them live on TV when this one hit a pig farm. No one hurt, and just one of the 4000 pigs was killed. Unbelievable!

Sorry to hear about your friends place.. We had a heck of a storm blow through early yesterday morning (5am) up at our cottage.. By the time we got out of bed the sun was shining and it was beautiful all day.....
