What is the best set of headers for under $400? I don't really care what brand they are, but known names are always nice.

Smallblock? Bigblock? Stock heighth? Lowered? Interested in fulllengths or more of a shorty/midlength? Primary size?(combination will dictate that)

You might be able to get some Sanderson's for that price. I'd pay the few extra bucks for them though, They fit like a glove and are worth every penny :D

I guess you know where I stand on this Adman.... you might want to post a question specific to the Summit brand headers (old Dynomax/Blackjack). I did a while back and got alot of positive feedback and was told that they fit "mint" for easy installation. I won't know till I install mine on my 454, but if they rust thru and brake or turn to dust in a year or 2 graemlins/clonk.gif which I think is highly unlikely, then I have only spent $89 and can then step up to something else. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I am trying a set of full length, Hedman Elites 68298 1-5/8" primary, 3" collector, in a 64 EL Camino and a small block. After beating the snot out of them and having them still not fit, I'm going to make expensive yard art out of them and put back in a set of Dynomax.

Just my $269.95 worth......

Hooker super comp's in a 68 smal block. Other than the clutch linkage interfierence and having to remove the right side header to replace the starter(which isn't easy to do in the driveway) I love them. Huge thick flanges, I've onlt had to re-tighten header bolts 1-2x a year for about 5 years now.
