My machine shop recommended that I have the long block sim tested after I assemble it to make sure that the lifters are spinning correctly. They want $60.00 for this. Is this necessary, and are there problems with lifters not spinning in a big block.

I did this!!

Cleaned all my lifter bores really good.

Then oiled up my fingers and "fingered" all the lifter bores with oil and being real careful NOT to get cut by the tops and bottoms of the holes!!!

Then oiled my lifters up in a clean can/cup and installed each one AND spun it by hand with my thumb and index finger to make sure none of them were binding!!

Oh, almost forgot but I also put some Moly on each foot as extra insurance b/c of all of it I put on my cam lobes..

Worked for me as a lifter spin check without starting my motor...
