: Filling Pits in frame after sandblasting- what to use?? sparkysgarage May 26th, 08, 12:43 PM Hey all- I have a 71 Chevelle I am restoring and have had the frame sandblasted- lots of pitting.....Wondering what is the best way to fill the pits and topcoat it with something like POR 15 or KBS Rust Seal. I would think this would be a common problem or question- any ideas on what it the best route to go to make the frame look really smooth and nice? If not bad a nice filler primer, if deeper then Icing or some light filler. rubadub May 26th, 08, 2:28 PM On the pits and pock marks I used 36 grit, then rage, then 180 and finished with red scotch brite. Painted it with epoxy. Rob rubadub May 26th, 08, 3:31 PM A little more here, if you want that frame on the dead ready, after your done with filling the bad areas, spray a couple good coats of z-chrome, then sand it, you will probably sand all most all of it off, but it will catch any bad areas, then epoxy over that.
