I have a problem that just arrived after i fixed my ignition system in my 1972 chevelle. I had to replace my distributor after a pretty frustrating and draining day of trying to diagnose. I got that fixed and went out for a ride and boom my car dies. I fuigure out that my brake light and turn signal fuses had blown cutting the power off to the IGNITION prong i had it connected to. I replaced the fuses and car ran. anytime i depress the brake pedal the fuse is blown. Anytime I turn the signals on the fuse blows. Please any idea on what this is would be useful and greatly appreciated. I'm almost to the point of selling it out of frustration.

Sounds like a short in the wiring somewhere between the TS switch and one of the four lights.
I think would start with the section under the carpet that goes back under the seats.
Do the hazard lights work?
You have your power to the coil coming off the turn signal fuse?

I have the power coming off the little "IGN" prong in between the turn signal fuse and the stop lamp fuse

Try disconnecting the distributor and see if it continues to blow the fuse when you press the brake. Does it happen only while the car is on, or both on and off? You may just be pulling too much current from one fuse.

It blows the signal light fuse when I turn the turn signals on and blows the brake fuse when I depress the brakes. I have been looking trying to figure out and I have noticed the hazards work flawlessly without blowing the fuse which leads me to believe it is the turn signal switch. Is it possible?
