how can i fix this problem. Its seems that the cable of the shifter is lock in parking, i took it apart and try to just pull the cable and its lock, what would this be? the trans i think its a powerglide, all help will be appriciated

With the cable disconnected from both ends ,does to have travel ?

i just disconnected the part from the shifter only and no travel

Disconnect the cable from the trans and see if it moves.

What vehicle?
I've seen the cable get welded inside the housing when the negative battery cable connection was bad.

71 chevelle, actually the problem began when my starter went bad
so that might be it

Yeah Dean ,that's what I was trying to get him to confirm.
I've found that it's more the body ground straps (or lack of) that cause the shift cable to act as a ground more than the battery ground cable.
He'll need to check/replace the body grounds to prevent a re-occurrence.
