I've seen the cable get welded inside the housing when the negative battery cable connection was bad. 71 chevelle, actually the problem began when my starter went bad so that might be it Mike May 24th, 08, 10:03 PM Yeah Dean ,that's what I was trying to get him to confirm. I've found that it's more the body ground straps (or lack of) that cause the shift cable to act as a ground more than the battery ground cable. He'll need to check/replace the body grounds to prevent a re-occurrence. | ||
