I'm converting from column shift to floor shift, and using a factory style horseshoe shifter. The original column has the Park/Neutral switch on it, and the shifter has one that looks identical on it... linkage rods still connect to the column, and wiring is at the column, so I'm wondering if there's any reason I can't just ignore the one on the shifter and hook it back up to the one on the column, or is there some reason I need to extend the wires and run to the switch on the shifter???

Also, as I understand, the purple wires are for the Park/Neutral switch... what are the lighter gauge pink and green wires for on the other 2 terminals???

One last question... is one of the purple wires hot all the time? If so, which one is always hot, and which one is only hot when in Park/Neutral? Solid Purple or Purple/White?

The small wires are for the backup light switch.

The purple with white stripe is hot from the ignition switch during cranking.

Thanks Dean. :) Any idea if I can keep the switch on the column?

I don't see any reason it wouldn't work the same.
