Hello,

Perhaps from my user ID you can tell I'm a car dealer. That's right I'm a car dealer and I've got to admit it's a pretty fun job if you love cars like I do! In all the years I've had everything from Fiat to Ferrari. Many years ago while walking to work after school to help out Gramps I had to pass a used car lot that had a beautiful Blue Chevelle SS on it. Being a car buff since my first matchbox car I fell in love with the car immediately. I can still see it sitting there! Well the car finally got sold and it has just remained figment of my imagination until today.

I guess the only reason why I never got one of these earlier is because one never really fell into my lap. I always found more money to made with exotics and sports cars so I went with that flow. However, anytime I went to a car show or swap meet the Chevelles were the first car I'd look for, Camaro's were next ....Fords never (lol! Just kidding!! Heck, I'd buy a soap box derby car with square wheels if I knew I could buy it right and make a buck with it!!)

I bought this just the other day and I am already talking with the guys over at the Tag Team section of this forum to see if it's the "Real Deal". So far so good but I still need to do some research. As I said before Muscle Cars is not my forte' but I'm a quick learner.

It's seems to be originally a '72 350 Chevelle SS. Someone put a (nice) 454 in it and the car is very solid. Only 2 owners as far as I can tell.

Have a look...

"How'd I do?"

Depends on what you paid for it.

$2,000 = You did great.
$30,000 = not so great.

Hello and welcome Carlo. I guess you've already learned the VIN will tell you what engine was originally in the car.

Yes! As I said I'm a quick learner!!

I have a question.

I noticed that alot of people put some pretty neat quotes as part of thier signatures. As soon as I think of one I'll put one too.

What I'm trying to figure out is this part of the signature:

1970 L78, Red on Red, 4 spd
1970 LS6, Misty Turquoise on Black, 4 spd
1970 L34, Black on Black, 4 spd
65 El Camino Red on Red, 4 spd, buckets console 327

I'm thinking it means the cars that one has, has had or both?
Am I close?

I would say most of the time it's the car(s) they currently have. It's really up to you though.

BTW- nice looking car! Did you buy it to keep for yourself or to sell?

Did you buy it to keep for yourself or to sell?

That's a good question!! In all the years I've been buying and selling cars it's been hard for me to keep anything too long! Some times I would end up not liking a car as much a I thought I would.

For example: I thought the H3 was a nice truck until I bought one. You can't see out of them and they can't get out of thier own way!!!

What usually happens is that I find something real nice and then I get offers that I cannot refuse (NO..not from the MOB!!) from people who want to buy the car.

It's hard to turn down offers on cars when they are way over what the going price is espescially when you make a living selling them.

However, I have been able to hold on to a nice '92 Coupe De Ville that a few folks around here might even like. Living out here in the NY/NJ I get offers for this car all the time.

So to answer the question I bought it to keep but if the numbers right she might be for sale. But before I do that I want to take it down to one of these weekly classic car shows that they hold in the supermarket shopping center parking lots around here. (I don't know the proper name for these shows).

I WANT ONE OF THOSE TROPHIES!!!

Forget the trophies and just enjoy the car while you have it.
Looks great from the pics ; I have the same blue but with white stripes, and someone lost the vynl top in time. ENJOY!!!!!!!

same blue but with white stripes, and someone lost the vynl top in time.

That's EXACTLY what I intend on doing if I get around to it. Plus I want to add a functioning Cowl Induction with flipper to it. The thing is if Im going that far I might as well paint the whole car again and take out some of the rough spots.

Careful you know one thing leads to another and pretty soon you dont even know how much you really have in it. Of coarse thats all right as long as its a labor of love, and lots of fun.
