I just got a new set of 1.5 ratio full rollers from summit. gave it a 1/4 turn preload as directed. the cam is broken in fine, every thing is all good, and these things are clacking like a wet cat! are roller rockers supposed to make noise? like a fairly significant noise? again, my lash is good on all rockers, just curious. cause it sounds scary..

Try turning them down another 1/4 turn.Had to do the same thing with mine.1/2 turn is still ok.

k.. I will try that.. I was told by a buddy that they would make a bit of noise, but it seems a little much.. Nice motor b.t.w. I was gonna go with the comp 292 myself, but I do enjoy a certain degree of street manners. otherwise, set-up is almost identical. You like the 383? does it pull well? I haven't hit the roads yet with mine, still fine tuning and tweaking the end of a 5 year resto..

I think that hyd rollers are as noisy or noisier than solid flat tappit cams. My Crane makes a fair amount of noise but it has a pretty good lift also, .610/.632. I'm only down a quarter turn past 0 lash though.

I know that when I installed the Harlan Sharps on my 396. It sounded like they were all loose. I came to find out here on TC that this is common for roller rockers. My cam is a hydraulic.

Im not having any problems with reliability so I have no reason to be concerned. It has been several years now.
