I have to admit I am not nor ever have been a 4dr fan , but with limited funds now and a recent find ,a decent 64 Malibu 4dr (titled driver ,decent western body, 6/pg), I am considering it. The thing is I recently parted out a Nova full time drag car and have a PILE of parts left over from wheels/tires (two different styles and sizes) to electrical to fuel to chassis to the 468 engine /T400 trans both detuned for street use -to a mild, if you can call it that 430HP, I got to thinking about that 4dr. Dropped spindles,4 wheel disc brakes, racing shocks (I have), bigger sway bar, cowl ind. hood , my 15x7 (4"bs)/15x8 (3.75"bs) Halibrand wheels ,racing bucket seats etc.. I would be thinking of going to a 700R4 tho or maybe even keep the six and add a 200r4,(gas is going to get nothing but higher :( ) Anyone have any pictures of modified 64 or 65 4dr Malibu's?

I've been thinking of a similar concept, and 64s are my soft spot. I'd leave it looking stock, and make a nice runner out of it. Either leave the 230 in it, or swap it out for an injected 4.3. Slap a 200r4 behind it either way. Go for the bigger sway bar, but otherwise leave the suspension alone. These cars ride nice as they come. Redo the seats, the front will need it guarenteed by now. Add aftermarket a/c if it doesn't have it from the factory. Drive it till the wheels fall off.

The BBC would probably be no good to drive on a regular basis, Fun? yes, practical? No and always hated bucket seats added to a 4dr car. So those two things would be sold off along w the other racing parts I think. Guy is coming tomorrow to pick up the nova so I will do a road trip Sunday to look the Malibu over w money in my pocket. I never deal w/o cash in hand, waiste of time and gives them too much time to think it over ;).

I think an efi-turbo L6-200r4 would be way cool and could fairly easily be pieced together. Great daily driver/ road warrior :D
