The headlights on my 70 chevelle are very dim and i was wondering if anyone had suggestions for new ones? Like any type of upgrade.

It's probably a combination of voltage drop (38 year old wiring and switches) old sealed beams and bad grounds.
Check and clean the brass headlight contacts and sockets and check the grounds are good first.
If still dim ? A new set of headlights (wagner or GE are good if you not going 100% original) and relays will cure the problem, I use a similar one to this

paint it black and mount it next to the voltage regulator (looks stock)
But any two "bosch' Type 4 pin relays will work.

Grounds, clean the terminals as already mentioned.

You should also check the voltage in and out of the high/low switch on the floor with a volt meter
(although they usually just fall apart inside and fail completely) but you never know ?

I found this and I am going to do it on mine. This should be done anyway before you install H4 replacements, so you don't burn up your wiring. There is alot of good info.

I'm sure this would help your situation.

Grounds are critical.

New halogen bulbs can be good.

Relays can help (or new headlight and high/low beam switches).

But the ultimate is relays and bigger wires and European specification halogen H4 and H1 upgrade bulbs. Way cool and you will never think your lights are dim again. See here for an example:
