A friend of mine has a 427 Tall Deck and he’s wondering what to do with it. I told him to stroke it so he would like some more information and/or advice on doing that or just rebuilding it. How much can you get out of one of these, CID that is? Any information will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Frog

I am also doing the trk 427, would like details of rotating assembly, mine has the forged steel crank and 4-bolt mains , need a recomended rod and piston combo to reach 511 cid , what OVERBORE?, and can 92 octain run your engine on the street , thanks BLK64SS

The only thing better than a std block that a truck 427 has is the ability to use longer rods. There is no more room in the crankcase for stroke clearence (the biggest problem) I have built them using 4.00 stroke and alum rods and had to grind a very large amount out of the bottom to make everything clear. With all of the assorted problems I really wouldn't recommend a truck block over a std one.

I just built a tall deck 427. I am looking to sell it. It is bored +.060" to 4.310 and has a 4.000" steel crank stroke, so it is displacing roughly 468 cid. I have 113cc 454 heads on it with Speed Pro 12.20:1 pistons. It also has a Crane Powermax Cam. The engine is 40" tall due to an Edelbrock UR2X Tunnel Ram, with Dual 600cfm Holley quads, 2 inch spacers and a Mr. Gasket red butterfly street scoop. The engine has a Pete Jackson noisy gear drive, 502 water pump, 8.00 inch dampner and more. Please email if you're interested. Sleeper427@ytsejam.com

My C/R came out to 13.3 - 1 so no I dont run 92 in it or drive it on the street. I'm sure 92oct. friendly pistons are available. I bought my block already clearenced for the 4.250 stroke

I've got Lunati 6.525" Pro-Mod Rods in mine w/4.25 stroke, I know that took a lot of grinding. I don't think I could have gotten aluminum rods in there with that stroke.
