IMO, you "should" pay about 20 bucks. Unfortunately, you aren't even going to get a functional AM original for less than $150.00 AM/FM......in working condition....anywhere from $400.00 to $800.00...Believe me, i'd give my left arm for a correct original for my 70. Even untested (most likely broken) fetch big $$. That would be the best way to go, get a non-working unit at a "fair" (Yeah, ok) price and have it repaired. Pisses me off to think of how many i tossed into the garbage can back in the day.....Sorry, harsh truth though...

Alot of other radios are the same, check for camaros etc. Chef on the board needed a original am radio for his 70, I traded him a 70 radio for a 71. and just sold the 71 radio for 25 bucks monday. Deals are out there. just look around gm cars from the early 70s. jim

Getting a broken radio and getting the new guts put in will run about $300 or so. Well worth it for better sound and function IMHO.

For a stock AM radio it should not be much. I got a '71 pushbutton AM Chevelle radio out in the garage and it worked the last time I checked it out. It could be yours cheaply . PM me if you are interested and I will try to dig it out.
