here where i live isn`t that much street driven supercharged cars so i try my luck here.basicly i drive a -64 malibu ss and with 467 and 8-71 it went 9.62/142.now i have 540 with the same blower,440 cfm flowing heads and two 1050 hp holleys atop.it seems to bog when changing to second gear in my pg.converter is a tci unit with 4400 stall and rated 1800 hp.i`ve only managed a 10.001 with 115 shutting off after 660.i had a 4.88 rear then and didn`t want to rew the new engine first time out.then with 4.10 i normally drive killed the a-1 converter.now i haven`t had chance to test the new converter but the bog bothers me.since malibu is regularly street driven i don`t want any fancy reargears and 6000 stall converters.now it cruises at 1800 rpm around 45 mph and gets somekind of gas mileage.should carbs with powervalves do better?the 9375`s don`t have them so they run rich at idle.can the 4.00 stroke kill the torque at low rpm`s?block is bored 4.630 and is an old pro stock block in good shape.any ideas are appreciated!!

Boy oh boy, the local's must open their eyes when you roll down the street. TTT, maybe someone here with the knowlege you need will help.

yes baddbob, the malibu seems to be getting attention, but mostly positive.today i was cruising and went to gas station to get some 98 octane unleaded when a russian big truck stopped there and two guys came out propably to eat.their amazement was hard to miss.they had to wait to hear and see me start the malibu and they just couldn`t take their eyes of the big m/t 33/18.5/15 i drive around with.i rewwed the engine a bit and made their day.i wonder what they will be telling their folks when they get back home.i leaned the engine a bit and now it seems to pull real hard even from idle with second gear on.i have a pair of 850 dp 9380`s,maybe i`ll try them?

I don't like the 9375 for an unblown motor but I have no idea how they would work with as much air as your monster will pass. Your idea about a lean condition is probabily correct. As an easy fix try an annular booster kit for the carbs. They annular boosters really make Dominators a much easier carb to live with.

Hey Mike Feudo, Not trying to be smart or anything but the Model (9375) Holley is the 1050 CFM carb with Annular Boosters. It's what my son has on his 540 Chevelle. The downleg style is a (8896).

yes, mike sutton has right.9375 hp dominators have annular bosters as do 9380 dp 850 4150 holleys.the 9375 carbs came from -67 camaro which went 9.1 with 477 cbb and 3200 lbs with m/t dot slicks.i plan to stroke the engine with 4.5 stroke crank and top it with 12-71 with bds intake.so i should start looking for bigger carbs.i know nothing about fuel injection so carbs is the way for me.

You guys are absolutley correct I just got into the Holley book and it looks like they don't make a non annular carb anymore. I think my feeble mind got the 7320 and 9375 confused.
